The Avison Ensemble’s director Gordon Dixon has invited the brilliant young Canadian pianist Katherine Chi to partner with him in a programme of virtuoso music for cello and piano. Katherine has a busy international career as a concerto soloist and appears with orchestras in concerts and festivals around the world. They met in Boston USA where Katherine is a professor of piano at the New England Conservatory of Music, and where Gordon was formerly Director of Music at Walnut Hill, the New England Conservatory’s school for exceptionally gifted children, comparable to the Yehudi Menuhin school in England.
